ANDERS WALTER Director / Screenwriter / Illustrator                   Anders Walter is an Oscar-winning film director and screenwriter, recognized for his short film HELIUM (2014), which earned him an Academy Award. His earlier short, 9 METER (2013), was shortlisted for an Oscar, cementing his reputation in the film industry. In 2023, Anders premiered his first Danish feature film, NÅR BEFRIELSEN KOMMER/BEFORE IT ENDS a powerful drama inspired by true events that explores a dark chapter in Denmark's history. The film delves into the unimaginable dilemmas faced by individuals in the aftermath of war. Beyond his filmmaking, Anders is a talented illustrator and storyboard artist, having created over 200 storyboards for films and commercials in Denmark. His creative range includes poster designs for brands like Carlsberg, Lego, and the Danish National Railway. In 2016, Anders made his feature film directorial debut with I KILL GIANTS (US), a fantasy drama aimed at young audiences, and he continues to develop projects for similar demographics. Anders also has a background in graphic novels, having published SOLAS Vol. 1: Opikayana in 2006 and SOLAS Vol. 2: The Silent Attack in 2010. Additionally, he has directed more than 25 music videos for prominent Danish artists. A voting member of both The American Film Academy (AMPAS) and the Danish Film Academy, Anders resides in Copenhagen with his wife and two children.
