Jesper Dalgaard (1989, Denmark) grew up in a remote village on the windy west coast of Denmark. He graduated from the National Danish Film School in 2017 and is an award- winning writer and director, who has been in competition and screened at IFFR, SXSW, Nordisk Panorama, TIFF and OFF, where his film Übermensch won Best Danish Short Film in 2017. At Sheffield Doc/Fest he received a Special Mention/ New Talent Award, his graduation film Weltschmerz won a Danish Academy Award and was pointed out with a 6 star review by Kim Skotte/Politiken. His work has been ‘Staff Picked’ by Vimeo and ‘Short of the Week’ and he received CopenX best of the year award for his VR- performance and theater piece ‘Doom Room’. In 2016 Dalgaard was selected for Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School. Working in the field of merging theater, documentary, and fiction, he often creates characters and aesthetics with bleeding love for poetic and artistic anarchism, mythology and the dark horses of society. His first feature MOONBLOOD is in development and was presented at CineMart, International Film Festival Rotterdam 2018.
